Chief Guide, First Lady Fazna Ahmed has participated in the ‘Eid Project’ by the Maldives Girl Guide Association.
The ‘Eid Project’ is an initiative of the young leaders of the Maldives Girl Guide Association.
Under this initiative young leaders of the Maldives Girl Guide Association visit the Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo island of Kaafu atoll on the second day of Eid-Al-Fitr annually since the year 2000.
During these visits, they provide those with special needs with gifts on the auspicious occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr.
The annual project has been carried out since then and 2023 marks the 24th consecutive year the initiative has been carried out.
This year, Frst Lady joined them in celebrating Eid-Al-Fitr and talked to some of the individuals at the facility.
She asked them about their well-being and living condition and presented them with Eid gifts.
FL Fazna also participated in several Eid games at the facility.
Despite the hurdles of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Maldives Girl Guide Association has resiliently continued this one-day event without interruption. During the difficult times of Covid-19, the association held the event virtually.
FL Fazna had previously visited the Home for People with Special Needs and participated in the ‘Eid Project’ back in 2019 as well.
She also participated in the virtual events held during 2020 and 2021 as well.
