Football Association of the Maldives has suspended three officials of Maziya Sports Club, following the dispute that occurred after the team lost match against Eagles in the STO Male’ League second round.
The dispute had occurred after Maziya lost by 4 goals to nil.
FAM had suspended Assistant Coaches Ahmed Suzair, Mohamed Suwaid and Vice Chair Abdullah Moosa.
FAM said that Assistant Coach Ahmed Suzair had threated the referee during the 88th minute and his actions after he was sent off the pitch. He was fined by MVR 12,000 and suspended for six matches.
Mohamed Suwaid was fined by MVR 300 and suspended for three matches for collaborating with Vice Chair Abdullah Moosa in threatening the fourth official.
Vice Chair Abdullah Moosa was suspended for six months for threatening the fourth official and for physical violence in the technical area. The disciplinary committee added that this was not his first outburst, having served a three-year suspension on similar charges.
The club had also been fined by MVR 7,000.
Maziya SC is yet to release an official statement regarding the decisions.
