Man wanted in ongoing criminal court case

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for an individual wanted to be presented before the court.
In a publication on Tuesday, the police institution revealed that the man is being located as he is required to be presented before the Criminal Court in connection with a case submitted at the court.
After failed efforts to present him to court, the court has since ordered the police institution to locate the man, take him into police custody and present the suspect before court.
Being sought in connection with the case is Ahmed Mohamed, 34 and native to Thimarafushi island of Thaa atoll.
The suspect is charged by the state for deliberately entering an unauthorized place illegally as well as illegal exertion of power over somebody else’s property.
Mohamed was to be taken into police custody and presented before the Criminal Court at 11am on March 22.
The police institution had urged the public to contact their custodial department through 9991442 if any information is attained regarding the suspect.
The institution took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for the immense support extended in such cases.
