Social workers play an essential role in altering the situation in a world where injustice is prevalent, says First Lady Fazna Ahmed.

She said this in a video message screened at an event to commemorate World Social Work Day.

The World Social Work Day event was organized by the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services.

Highlighting that it is important to invest in and support the social work sector, FL Fazna in her message noted that social workers play a crucial role in altering situations in a world where discrimination is common.

FL Fazna went on to stress that increased investments in the social work sector are a commitment made in pursuit of a just, peaceful, and thriving society.

The first lady also noted the resilient work of social workers in creating an inclusive and just community.

Extending warm wishes and felicitations of the World Social Work Day to all social workers, FL Fazna also extended appreciation to all those who diligently work in the social services sector, for their steadfast efforts.

The event saw plaques of appreciation presented to social workers who had served in the field for more than 15 years.
