The childcare center established by the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has officially been inaugurated.
The "MPL Kids Care Centre" was inaugurated by First Lady Fazna Ahmed on Sunday.
Following the inauguration ceremony, FL Fazna toured the facility and spent time with the children registered there.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced on 7 March 2019, the introduction of six months of paid maternity leave and one month of paid paternity leave as part of the administration's overarching priority of ensuring a "Caring State".
As part of the government's policies on ensuring social stability, empowering women, and fostering healthy families, the "MPL Kids Care Centre" cares for children of the company's staff during its working hours in a “safe” and “quality” childcare setting.
The center is located on M. Omadhoofannu and is designed to accommodate 30 to 40 children.
Currently, 12 children are registered at the childcare center by MPL.
"MPL Kids Care Centre" will be open for services every day except for Fridays, from 7am to 7pm.
