The newly appointed High Commissioner of Seychelles to the Maldives, Claude Morel has called on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel.
The High Commissioner of Seychelles met with the Maldivian State Minister on Monday.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Minister congratulated the High Commissioner on his appointment as the non-resident High Commissioner of Seychelles to the Maldives and reflected on the close and friendly relations between the Maldives and Seychelles that has existed for several decades.
State Minister Khaleel and High Commissioner Morel also discussed ways to further increase the collaboration between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, such as fisheries, tourism cooperation, and collaboration in the multilateral arena.
High Commissioner Morel thanked the Government of Maldives for the warm welcome he received and expressed his commitment to work closely with the Government and the people of Maldives to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Foreign Secretary Ahmed Latheef; Secretary, Bilateral Dr. Hala Hameed; Additional Secretary Ibrahim Uvais; and Director General Mariyam Reesha.
