The newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium, Didier Vanderhasselt has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Ahmed Khaleel
The Belgian Ambassador met with State Minister Khaleel on Monday.
The meeting saw State Minister Khaleel congratulating Ambassador Vanderhasselt on presenting credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih
Additionally, the State Minister and the Ambassador explored ways to further strengthen the existing ties between the Maldives and Belgium.
During the discussions, State Minister Khaleel reaffirmed Maldives' commitment to expand the longstanding partnership between Maldives and Belgium as well as the European Union, especially in the areas of trade, exports, environment and climate change.
State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Ahmed Latheef, Foreign Secretary, Dr. Hala Hameed, Secretary-Bilateral, Shiuneen Rasheed, Joint Secretary and Aminath Shaistha Hamdhan Zaki, Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
