The man injured in the dangerous accident that took place on the bridge highway three days back, is still on ventilator support.
An official at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) told RaajjeMV that the man is still on ventilator support and in critical condition.
Further details of his condition and the extent of his injuries are yet to be clarified.
The hospital stressed that it was difficult to say anything directly regarding his condition.
A Maldivian man was seriously injured in the crash that occurred on February 9.
The accident occurred when a motorcycle and car collided on the Sinamalé Bridge highway. Both vehicles were headed to Malé from Hulhumalé at the time of the collision.
Receiving treatment in critical care is the Maldivian man who was riding the motorcycle when the crash occurred.
It has been reported that the motorcycle was completely damaged in the accident, with the car also attaining major damages.
The dangerous accident is currently being investigated by the Maldives Police Service (MPS).
There have been accidents on the bridge and highway in the past as well, with some accident victims having succumbed to their injuries before they were taken to the hospital.
As such, a well-known local businessman was killed in a similar crash on the bridge in December 2022.
