High Commissioner of Singapore met with Minister Shahid
The newly appointed High Commissioner of Singapore to the Maldives, Soo Kok Leng, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid.
The meeting was held at the Foreign Ministry, on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Minister Shahid congratulated High Commissioner Soo on his appointment and expressed confidence that the long-standing ties between the two countries will be further strengthened during his tenure.
Minister Shahid stated that the Maldives attaches great importance to its relations with Singapore and appreciates the continued assistance and cooperation received from Singapore towards the development of Maldives.
Both Minister Shahid and High Commissioner Soo also exchanged views to further enhance cooperation between the two countries.
High Commissioner Soo assured Singapore will continue to provide technical assistance towards the socio-economic development of the Maldives.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by Secretary Bilateral at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Hala Hameed, Additional Secretary Amin Javed Faizal, and Assistant Director Ibrahim Haail.
High Commissioner Soo was accompanied by Ms. Roshni Sharma, Country Officer (South Asia & Sub-Saharan Africa Directorate) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore.
