The harbor development project in Muraidhoo island of Haa Alif atoll, is well underway.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) took to Twitter to update the public on the progress of the Muraidhoo harbor development project, on Thursday.

As such, the company revealed that the Muraidhoo harbor development project has reached 60 percent completion as of Thursday.

The company has so far completed the harbor pavement component under the project.

MTCC went on to reveal that the new harbor basin dredging component has reached 95 percent completion.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to install a 212-meter breakwater, a 407-meter quay wall, 105-meter revetment and 50-meters of groyne.

Further, the company is also required to dredge the harbor basin and navigation channel as well as build a ramp and walkway bridge.

The installation of navigation lights also comes under the scope of the project.

The project is valued at MVR 36.3 million.
