Haa Alif Atoll Council members commend Solih administration's development initiatives
Out of the 199 projects initiated across the atoll, the administration has completed 73 so far

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met the Haa Alif Atoll Council members on Wednesday

The members of Haa Alif Atoll Council have commended the development initiatives carried out by the incumbent administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, in the atoll.

They said this during a meeting President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih held with them on Wednesday.

The meeting saw councilors shedding light on the multiple development projects that has already been completed across the atoll, and adding that many more projects are underway presently.

They went on to express the need to speed-up some of these projects.

The councilors also briefed President Solih on some of the concerns facing the atoll including budgetary constraints, finding an income source for the islands without reefs and lagoons within their jurisdiction, the need to upgrade the healthcare facilities in the atoll hospital and developing the harbor in Ihavandhoo island.

The councilors also noted that Maldives Immigration branch in Dhidhdhoo Island is understaffed, which presents difficulties for the immigration services in the atoll.

President Solih expressed gratitude to the councilors for the warm welcome and stated that the launching of the Zone One of the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry service will aid in the development of the atoll.

Further, he also noted that the budgetary constraints and the jurisdictional issues the councils face were discussed during the most recent Viavathi Raajje Conference held on Gan Island in Laamu Atoll.

President Solih added that the administration is working to find solutions to these issues.

The meeting also saw President Solih assuring the councilors that his administration will work to provide healthcare services without disruptions and added that the facilities will be upgraded.

Out of the 199 projects initiated across the atoll, the administration has completed 73 so far, with many upcoming projects in different stages of planning as well as bidding.

President has returned to Male on Wednesday after completing a tour of four northern islands.
