The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden Klas Molin has paid a farewell call on Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel.

The farewell call was paid at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday afternoon.

Congratulating the Ambassador of Sweden on the completion of his successful tenure, the state minister expressed gratitude for his “hard work” in strengthening the friendly cooperation between the Maldives and the Kingdom of Sweden.

During the meeting, the state minister and the ambassador explored ways to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two countries especially in the areas of tourism, environment and climate change.

Expressing gratitude for the ambassador’s strong commitment to enhance relations, Khaleel applauded his contribution to strengthen the partnership between Maldives and the European Union.

The State Minister was accompanied at the meeting by Joint Secretary Shiuneen Rasheed and Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Shaffau Ibrahim.

Klas Molin presented his Letter of Credence to then-president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on 28 June 2018.

His four-year tenure ended this year.
