Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Suhail Ahmed has retired from his post.
Suhail joined HDC 2001 following the establishment of a separate agency for the reclamation and development of Hulhumalé.
The former MD of HDC had made immense contributions to the company over the years.
As such, Suhail was among the employees of HDC when the Hulhumalé first became inhabitable with 200 families having moved to the suburbs upon the completion of housing units.
Further, Suhail was also among those who worked on the frontlines of the work to reclaim and develop the second phase of Hulhumalé, with the increasing need for housing and shelter in the congested capital region.
Suhail had also worked in the frontlines of providing the HDC experience to outlying atolls, under “Beyond Hulhumalé”.
He had served in numerous senior positions at HDC, the biggest SOE in the Maldives, during the past four presidential terms.
The Housing Development Corporation had extended sincere appreciation for Suhail’s contributions to the company, following his retirement.
