Skeletal remains have been discovered in the dump site of Dhaandhoo island of Gaaf Alif atoll.
The police institution revealed that they received reports of the human remains discovered from the Dhaandhoo landfill some time after sundown on Sunday.
Initial examinations of the bone at first sight revealed that the bone appeared to be old, however, authorities are yet to official declare the remains, having belonged to a human.
Although no further details have been disclosed, authorities have revealed that further investigations are currently underway.
