The national record for the 200-meter dash has been shattered by Himna
 
The previous record was held by Aishath Afa in the 2016 Olympic games

After running the 200m dash in the Islamic Solidarity games, Himna Hassan has shattered the national record.

Himna had ran the second heat of the 200m dash in Konya, Turkey on Wednesday. Himna finished the heat in 24.66 seconds. Himna had won the fifth place overall.

The previous record for 200m was held by Aishath Afa in the Olympic Games of 2016. The record Afa had set was 24.96 seconds. Himna received hearty congratulations from the president of the Maldivian Athletic association Mohammed Tholal.

Himna has recently broken a national record in the Commonwealth games as well. Which was for the 100m dash.

Rifa Mohamed had competed in the first heat. In the heat Rifa finished in 26.09 seconds. Rifa was the overall sixth in the heat.
