The biggest achievement of Funadhoo School is the human resources it has developed over its 50-year-long history, says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

He made these remarks while speaking at the event to mark the school’s golden jubilee anniversary as part of his ongoing trip to two northern islands.

As such, taking the podium at the event the president remarked that the most significant contribution to the community and most prominent achievement of Funadhoo School, is the human resources it helped develop over its 50-year-long history.

Shedding light on the school's achievements, President Solih stated that several of the school's alumni are valuable members of society, serving in leading roles across the region.

He also touched upon the multiple academic achievements of the school on the national stage.

Going on to reiterate his administration's commitment to ensure inclusive education and the right for every child to quality education and learning, President Solih stated that the incumbent administration aims to build generations of skilled, talented and innovative youth who strive toward maintaining societal harmony.

President Solih noted that the administration's free first-degree program sought to realize these goals, urging students to be mindful of what is happening around them and consider ways to contribute to community development in addition to paying heed to their education.

He also shed light on the administration's efforts to enhance the education sector and stated that 203 education infrastructure projects are currently ongoing in different stages.

A project to develop 15 classrooms in Funadhoo School is on-going presently.

Further, funds are to be earmarked in the state budget for 2023, to establish an additional administrative building.

The government also made a decision to revise the pay structure of education sector staff to ensure a proportionate salary goes to them, which will be implemented soon.

He also announced his decision to launch a land reclamation project in 2023 as requested by the residents and added that the administration plans to begin coastal protection work on the island, soon.

The ceremony also saw the president presenting commemorative "Golden Jubilee Honour" plaques to the long-serving staff of the school.

The recipients included the school's founder, the late Abdulla Abdul Kareem, and teacher Abdul Haadhee Yoosuf.

President Solih also presented commemorative plaques to long-serving employees who have served for over 15 and 20 years, respectively.

The president will also visit Holhudhoo island in Noonu atoll as part of the tour.
