The incumbent administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had pioneered the most development initiatives in Kamadhoo island of Baa atoll, says the island council.
The councilors said this during a meeting they held with President Solih, at the President’s Office.
Expressing appreciation for the incumbent administration’s development initiatives, the island councilors highlighted that the Solih administration had initiated most of the development activities, in the island’s history.
President Solih was briefed on the most pertinent issues and needs facing the island community including coastal erosion, lack of space at the school and health center, the introduction of policing, the requirement for a new mosque as well as challenges faced in using the harbor.
Further, discussions were also held on ways to align the administration’s development projects with the island’s land-use plan, as well as difficulties faced by the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) in carrying out their duties.
Listening to these concerns, President Solih assured the councilors that the administration will seek amicable solutions to their concerns and shared the latest updates on the development projects currently underway and planned for the island.
President Solih shed light on the importance of such meetings, adding that feedback received at these meetings help improve the administration’s policies and services to the people.
