Niyama Resort is located in Dhaal Atoll

An expatriate has succumbed to an ailment while receiving emergency medical treatment in Dhaal Atoll Hospital.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has identified the deceased as a 43-year-old Nepalese expatriate, employed at Niyama Private Islands Maldives located in Dhaal atoll.

He died while receiving emergency medical treatment for an ailment which has not been specified by the authorities, yet.

The death was reported at around 06:27pm on Sunday.

Further investigations are currently underway.
