MTCC commences construction of bund wall in Alifushi

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced construction of bund wall in Alifushi island of Raa Atoll.
MTCC states that the bund wall is being constructed in preparation for reclamation operations under the Land Reclamation and Airport Development Project of Alifushi.
The Land Reclamation and Airport Development Project of Alifushi involves reclamation operations of 50.5 hectares, construction of a 2871m revetment and 480m groyne.
The scope of work also includes; construction of a runway, apron, taxiway, service roads, terminal building, fire building, installation of firefighting equipment and a 655m security fence.
The value of the project is MVR 451.6 million.
