Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed with a Singaporean company, to develop its residential towers.

MTCC signed with Singapore’s RI Engineering Works on Saturday, to develop two 15-storey residential towers, under its ‘Hiyaa Project’. The company has been assigned to both design and develop the two towers.

MTCC said that the work will begin within next week, and that both towers are expected to be completed in two years’ time.

The towers will have a total of 152 one-bedroom apartments and 210 three-bedroom apartments, said MTCC.

Under President Abdulla Yameen’s affordable housing scheme, the government is to develop sixty-two 25-storey towers in Hulhumalé.
