MTCC has reveled that 62 percent of Sh. Foakaidhoo harbor upgrade project has been completed .
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) took to Twitter providing the latest updates of the Sh. Foakaidhoo harbor upgrade project.
As such, they revealed that the fourth shipment of precast concrete blocks required for the construction of the harbor quay wall were delivered to project site on April 15.
With this being said, MTCC revealed that the project is well underway and that 62 percent of the works have now been completed.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to dredge 45,795 cubic meters and construct a quay wall measuring up to 464 meters.
Further they are also required to install a 100-meter revetment, build a breakwater measuring 507 meters and install 2,320 square meters of harbor pavement.
MTCC will also be installing navigation lights and street lights as well as mooring buoys under the project.
The project was contracted to the company by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 29 December 2019, to be completed within 500 days.
The project is valued at MVR 64.6 million.
