The project to construct a breakwater and dredge the harbor channel in Manadhoo island of Noonu atoll, is well underway.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that currently ongoing is the dredging operation and the footing casting work for jetty construction.
MTCC revealed that they are required to dredge and excavate operations of 29,038 cubic meters, construct a breakwater measuring 195 meters and a revetment measuring 188 meters under the project.
Further, they are also required to install a concrete bridge, a ramp and navigational aids.
The project is valued at MVR 32.1 million.
The project was contracted to MTCC on 6 April 2015 by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure to be completed within 300 days.
