The ‘Ufanveli Sihhathu’ Centre for Reproductive Health has been inaugurated at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH).

During his short visit across some islands of Thiladhunmathi atoll this past weekend, Vice President Faisal Naseem officially inaugurated the center, established at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital under the aid from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

The center is the first of its kind to be established outside of the Maldives congested capital, Greater Malé region and paves way for communities in the region to access the wide range of reproductive health services made available with the establishment of the center.

Taking the podium at the event, VP Naseem revealed that the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih attaches high priority to the progress of the health sector and revealed that the government has achieved many strides in this regard, over the past three years.

Highlighting that the number of services fulfilled by the hospital has almost neared 300,000, VP Naseem said that this mirrors the public’s trust towards the facility.

He further stressed that the services established within the past three years of the Solih administration have been long overdue and urged healthcare staff to treat patients with respect and compassion.
