Discussions have been held regarding the most important development projects in Kulhudhuffushi City.
During a meeting Vice President Faisal Naseem held with the city council, its Women's Development Committee (WDC) and senior institutional representatives as part of his Thiladhunmathi tour this past weekend, he engaged in discussions regarding challenges facing the community in waste management as well as the swift progress of the development projects in the city, as well as the significance of social development and improving the city's infrastructure.
Those representing the city’s schools shed light on the developmental needs and challenges facing schools. As such, they stressed on the delay in initiating some of the infrastructure projects planned for schools in the northern city.
The vice president was also briefed on the challenges facing the schools in recruiting staff to key positions.
Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital officials revealed that they need the ongoing and planned projects to address the space constraints, as soon as possible.
They went on to note that the government is working on the project to upgrade the hospital to tertiary level, adding that the past three years have been the most successful and important period for upgrading the services of the hospital.
VP Naseem revealed that the government highly prioritizes the development of the health sector specifically in regional hospitals and added that efforts are underway to provide high-quality healthcare in various parts of the country.
Further, he added that the issue of waste management highlighted by the council will be resolved and that discussions will be conducted with relevant authorities regarding the issues raised by the council and institutional representatives.
