Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Girish Chandra Murmu has called on Vice President Faisal Naseem.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office on Monday, discussions revolved around some of the Memorandums of Understanding signed between the government of Maldives and India as well as ways to strengthen the inherent relationship and the close ties both countries have enjoyed over the years.
VP Naseem commended Murmu for the cooperation and close support extended to the relevant authorities to improve their services by using his specialist experience.
He extended gratitude to the government of India for the assistance and contribution to the Maldives government's development priorities as well.
Expressing keen interest to assist the Maldivian government in capacity-building in the areas of good governance, health and education, the Indian Comptroller and Auditor General revealed that he is also eager to collaborate in different areas to conduct audits, such as environment and information technology.
Murmu went on to stress on the significance of efficiently utilizing limited resources.
