A man has been arrested under accusations of assaulting a young woman.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the assault was reported to them at around 1:30am on Thursday.
Arrested in connection to the case is a 19-year-old man.
The victim in the case has also been identified as a 19-year-old woman.
No further details have been publicized in connection to the case, however, further investigations are currently underway.
Sources report that the woman had been victimized by the accused on previous occasions as well.
