Managing Directo of Fenaka Corporation Limited, Ahmed Saeed Mohamed has stated that a long-term solution will soon be found for the sewerage system issues faced by Fuvamulah City.

While speaking on RaajjeTV’s ‘Fala Surukhee’ programme, Saeed stated that Fenaka is facing a lot of problems in relation to the Sewerage System Rectification Project in Fuvamulah City and affirmed that actions are being taken in order to come up with a permanent solution.

Saeed hopes that those who reside in Fuvamulah City will be at peace when the work regarding the sewerage system is fixed.

MD Saeed confirmed that the work of repairing leaks from the sewerage system began over two months ago and informed that MVR 43 million was invested in this project and around MVR 200 million was spent on building it.

According to MD Saeed, establishing a sewerage system is a difficult task, because of the way it has to be structured around islands – during southwest monsoon, waste from outfall pipes build up on the shore. This waste is supposed to go into the sea or to inhabited islands, but MD Saeed highlighted that a lot of obstacles are faced when it comes to the repair of the pipes.

Furthermore, MD Saeed stated that even small islands face the same problem in relation to the outfall pipe and added that they do not have the budget to purchase the costly pumps required to maintain the system.

However, he affirmed that Fenaka is doing their best to do everything according to a specific plan.
