Government working hours for this year’s Ramadan will be from 10 am to 2 pm, the President’s Office has announced.

The announcement was made earlier in the week, as the month of Ramadan is to start in late May.

In addition to government offices, school sessions will be held for four hours as well.

The President’s Officer further announced that the government working hours from the 1st of Shawwaal to the 7th of Shawaal will also be from 10 am to 2 pm. The first day of Shawwaal is Eid- al-Fitr, while some Muslims observe six days of fasting during the beginning of the month.

In the announcement, President Abdulla Yameena advised all government employees to “plan their working schedule to fit the official hours” during Ramadan.
