An individual, in critical condition after having been involved in a motorcycle accident on Fuvahmulah, has been transferred to the southernmost Addu City for treatment.

Abdulla, who is 59-years-old was first treated at the ICU in Fuvahmulah hospital and his transfer to the capital city was arranged for Saturday.

However, the transfer to Malé was cancelled after his condition started to decline and Abdulla has been taken to the Southernmost Addu City – adjacent to Fuvahmulah – via speed ambulance services.

Abdulla brother said that he suffered severe injuries to cerebral veins and was to see a neurologist at the ADK Hospital.

While all three people involved in the accident – two riders and one passenger – Abdulla has sustained the severest injuries.

The police said that one of the motorcycles had been travelling at a high speed while it crashed into the other. Officers are investigating the case.
