454 covid-19 vaccines were administered on Thursday.
According to the latest information publicized by Health Protection Agency (HPA), 116 first doses, and 338 second doses were administered on Thursday. All 454 doses were administered in vaccinations centres in atolls, with the ones in the Greater Male' Area closed.
With this development, the number of fully vaccinated individuals now sits at 260,619, while a total of 321,107 people have received a first dose across the country.
The vaccines that are currently being administered in the Maldives, are Covishield, Sinopharm, and Pfizer. Due to deficient supply, Covishield was temporarily stopped, continuing administration on July 4th. Administration of Covishield, currently operates on an appointment basis. Individuals who got the first dose in May, are being encouraged to get an appointment for the second dose.
The Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC) has stated that 50 percent of the country's adult population is now fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
The current administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih launched the “Covid-19 Dhifaau” inoculation drive on February 1.
