MILO Maldives has switched to paper straws, for the first time in the Maldives.
With this, MILO has become the first boxed beverage to transition to paper straws from plastic straws, the Maldives.
MILO Maldives revealed that their decision to switch to paper straws stems from the purpose of phasing out the use of single-use plastics across the Maldives and practice environmentally-friendly ways through which they provide their services to the public.
MILO packets are currently 100 percent reusable.
MILO Maldives has urged the public to support the switch to protect the planet for a “better” and “greener” world for the generations to follow.
Although packets with plastic straws are still available in the market, MILO revealed that the new and improved packets will be shelved and replace the plastic-straw packets within a month. Once the plastic-straw packets run out of stock in the market, MILO revealed that only the paper-straw packets will be made available nationwide and they will cease the supply of plastic-straw packets.
Wholesale and retail suppliers of Nestlé MILO in the Maldives, MHA Private Limited and Lilly Enterprises will be supplying only paper-straw packets into the Maldives starting July 1.
Nestlé MILO is one of the most popular beverages among all age groups in the Maldives.
