Tourist arrivals in March 2018 had increased by 18.5% compared to the same month last year, which is a 17% increase for the tourism sector within the first three months of the year.
According to statistics published by the Tourism Ministry, 133,466 tourist arrivals had been recorded in March with a total of 420,103 tourist arrivals since the beginning of the year.
The most arrivals were recorded from China at 17.3% while tourists from Italy were recorded at 9.9%, 7.8% from Germany, 7.8% from London, 5.8% from Russia, 5% from France, 4.6% from neighbouring India, 2.7% from the United States of America (USA), 2.6% from Switzerland, and 2.5% from Japan.
Tourist arrivals from Russia, Italy, and Germany has significantly increased within the past three months.
Within the past three months, arrivals from Russia increased by 32.7%, arrivals from Italy by 25%, France by 23.7% and Germany by 22%.
Furthermore, out of the 41,894 registered beds, 40,893 beds had been occupied.
According to these statistics, the most tourist arrivals were recorded from Europe at 56.8%. Second most arrivals were from Asia Pacific regions at 35.1%.
