Maldivians to Become Resort Shareholders, With USD Dividends Paid Directly to Citizens

The President has announced a government initiative to make every Maldivian citizen a resort shareholder by developing 10 resorts that will deposit profits directly into citizens' accounts in US dollars. While the administration aims to have these properties operational within the next three years, public confidence remains low as many believe the government is struggling to effectively manage the national economy.
