Mohamed Atheef, who held the position of Senior Political Director at the health center in Thulhaadhoo island of Baa atoll, has been dismissed from the position and transferred to the Ministry of Tourism and Environment.

In the letter addressed to Atheef by the President's Office on Sunday regarding the transfer of position, it was stated that the president sincerely thanks him for the services he rendered to the Thulhaadhoo Health Center.
A source from Thulhaadhoo said that Atheef was transferred from the health center after some members of the main ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) Thulhaadhoo Executive Committee approached President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during his recent trip to Thulhaadhoo, expressing their lack of confidence in Atheef. The source also mentioned that their lack of confidence was due to complaints from islanders about the deteriorating management and disorganization of the health center's affairs.
