Six new cases of Covid-19 were reported from inhabited islands, with 14 more cases detected from across operational resorts.

Health authorities have warned that they may have to begin "choosing" or triaging Covid-19 patients for treatment if the caseload continues to increase, and have requested public support in controlling the spread of the virus to prevent further fatalities.

Health authorities have also revealed they will be pursuing a mass awareness movement across the Maldives, as the nation closes out a year of battling the pandemic, and have called for strong public backing for the movement. Healthcare workers continue to vaccinate and treat persons across the Maldives to counter Covid-19 as the country prepares to mark one year of new-normal experiences following the arrival of Covid-19.
