Surge in common cold, influenza, and diarrhea cases reported in November

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported a rise in epidemic diseases including common cold, influenza and diarrhea in November.
HPA said that compared to October this year, the number of reported common cold cases in November significantly increased. They went on to report that the number of reported diarrhea cases increased as well.
As such, while 29,515 common cold cases were reported in October, 40,504 cases were reported in November. HPA also stated that 3,162 diarrhea cases were reported in October, while 3,635 cases were reported in November.
Further, HPA noted that compared to October this year, the number of people tested for influenza symptoms in November increased. Out of 2,375 samples tested so far this year, 476 samples have returned positive according to the public health authority.
HPA stated that 164 people were tested during November, and 42 people tested positive.
The public health authority stated that it is important to take preventive measures against these diseases, and if any symptoms appear, one should seek medical attention as soon as possible without going out among the public.
