Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened a new self-service banking ATM center in Guraidhoo island of Kaafu atoll.
In an effort to support the island community and the national bank’s ongoing efforts to expand its services in outlying atolls in support of island communities, BML opened the center in Guraidhoo island on Thursday.
The country’s national bank currently has two branches alongside four self-service banking centers and cash agents in other inhabited islands in the atoll, with the newest addition.
These centers will support individuals and businesses in depositing and transferring money on a round-the-clock basis, in addition to the general cash withdrawal service. The center houses a state-of-the-art multi-functional ATM and the bank has been continually investing in efforts to support local communities, BML revealed in a statement.
The national bank’s CEO and Managing Director, Tim Sawyer remarked that opening the ATM center in Guraidhoo demonstrates the bank’s commitment to expand access to convenient banking services across the atolls.
Sawyer noted that the inauguration of the Guraidhoo center marks another important step in BML’s ongoing investment program to benefit individuals, businesses and communities across the country.
Over the past year, BML opened self-service banking ATM centers across nine islands.
