Addu City Council has announced they are seeking information about those who travelled to Addu from islands under monitoring after 1 January.

A statement publicized by Addu City Council requests citizens to quickly inform the SSDs for their respective islands if they have travelled to Addu by air or sea from islands under monitoring after 1 January, with the exception of those who arrived from Male' City.

The Addu City Council revealed that this was a necessary undertaking in order to protect the citizens of Addu from the pandemic spreading across the nation.

The latest statistics publicized by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) show 48 new cases of Covid-19 reported in the past day, with 29 cases being reported in inhabited islands outside of the Greater Male' Region. GA Dhaandhoo and GA Villingilli were also placed under monitoring on Thursday, following the discovery of positive cases linked to the atoll's Dhevvadhoo island cluster. L. Fonadhoo is also currently under monitoring as people have tested positive for Covid-19 on the island.
