Chief magistrates appointed to four judicial constituencies
The appointees were selected during a commission meeting on Tuesday
All of the appointees have experience in the field
Interviews were conducted with all the applicants

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed chief magistrates to four judicial constituencies.

The commission had conducted interviews with those who applied for the constituencies out of which individuals were carefully selected after a commission meeting held on Tuesday.

Appointed chief magistrates are:

  • Ali Adam native to Kulhudhuffushi island of Haa Dhaal atoll, to the Haa Dhaal judicial constituency,
  • Ibrahim Maumoor native to Malé City to the Alif Dhaal judicial constituency,
  • Ibrahim Ihsan native to Maradhoo island of Seenu atoll, to the Gaaf Alif judicial constituency,
  • Mohamed Zahir Hassan native to Thinadhoo island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll to the Gaaf Dhaal judicial constituency.

JSC revealed that Adam, who was appointed chief magistrate of the Haa Dhaal judicial constituency attained his Bachelors of Shariah and Law from Villa College and has 15 years of experience as a judge.

Further, the newly appointed chief magistrate of the Gaaf Alif judicial constituency has a Diploma in Shariah and Law from Villa College and 10 years of experience as a magistrate.

Similarly, Ihsan also has a Bachelors of Shariah and Law from the Maldives National University, alongside two years of experience in the field.

The commission went on to reveal that Zahir, who was appointed to the Gaaf Dhaal constituency, has 21 years of experience in the field and attained his Diploma in Shariah and Law from Maldives College of Islamic Studies.
