Hearings of terror charges against ex-Pres scheduled for today
Last hearings cancelled as summons could not be handed over

Criminal Court has scheduled the hearings against former President Mohamed Nasheed for Wednesday 1330hrs.
Though the hearings had been set for the time, it is not certain whether if the summons had been handed over to Nasheed.
The exiled former President is facing a fresh set of terrorism charges over the 2010 arrest of President Abdulla Yameen, then parliament representative for Mulaku constituency. President Yameen was detained on July 14th 2010, taken to Aarah and released nine days later on the 23rd. He was arrested by the military after his release from police custody, amid reports that bribes were being funneled to lawmaker to remove Nasheed, then President.
Nasheed was sentenced to 13 years’ imprisonment on March 13, 2015, over the arrest of Criminal Court Chief Judge Abdulla Mohamed in 2012. He has been living in exile in the UK.
His last hearings were cancelled after Criminal Court had failed to hand him the summons.
