Maldives reported 47 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, as well as an additional 121 recoveries.
The 47 new cases were confirmed from the 1,829 samples tested within 24 hours; 46 are from the capital region while one is from an operational resort.
While this pushes the country’s Covid-19 case count to 12,994, with the additional 121 recoveries reported on Sunday, a total of 11,902 patients have recovered from the virus thus far. There have been 46 deaths.
With this, there are currently 1,039 active coronavirus cases in the island nation. 787 of the active cases are in the Male’ region while there are 21 cases in outlying atolls, 78 cases in tourist establishments, 152 cases in islands under development and one active case in an industrial island.
94 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals, two more than the previous day.
Out of the 12,994 cases confirmed since March, 62.76 percent are locals.
