A 77-year-old local man has succumbed to Covid-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the man passed away on Sunday afternoon while receiving treatment at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility.

This is the 46th Covid-19 fatality confirmed in the Maldives, 38 locals and eight foreigners, and the eighth death this month.

The country has recorded a total of 12,578 Covid-19 cases since March, and there have been 11,599 recoveries.
