Maldives reported 29 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday.
While this includes 19 locals and 10 foreigners, 24 of the cases were confirmed from the greater Male’ region and the remaining from other islands or resorts.
The 29 cases are from the 1,360 samples tested within 24 hours. This pushes the country's Covid-19 case count to 12,384.
With an additional 18 recoveries, the country’s total recoveries have reached 11,406.
There have been 45 deaths from Covid-19, including seven this month.
There are 926 active cases currently, including in 15 residential islands and 29 resorts. 72 patients are being treated at hospitals, nine more than the previous day.
