Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has been contracted to construct water and sanitation systems in 15 residential islands as well as water systems in five additional islands.
MWSC signed the agreement with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on Sunday.
The company said that the water and sewerage facilities is the 15 residential islands is expected to be completed within 540 days from the commencement date while the water facilities in the five islands are to be completed within 450 days.
The projects contracted to MWSC on Sunday are:
- AA. Feridhoo water and sanitation project - MVR 69.3 million
- AA. Himandhoo water and sanitation project - MVR 65.8 million
- B. Kamadhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 56.6 million
- B. Maalhos water and sanitation project: MVR 60.4 million
- HA. Maarandhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 72.8 million
- HA. Thakandhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 76.7 million
- HA. Vashafaru water and sanitation project: MVR 78.9 million
- HDh. Hirimaradhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 69.1 million
- HDh. Kumundhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 102.7 million
- Sh. Goidhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 86.04 million
- N. Maafaru water and sanitation project: MVR 94.4 million
- N. Fodhdhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 58.1 million
- R. Fainu water and sanitation project: MVR 63.3 million
- Lh. Olhuvelifushi water and sanitation project: MVR 80.08 million
- ADh. Kunburudhoo water and sanitation project: MVR 45.1 million
- AA. Mathiveri water project: MVR 38.8 million
- HA. Muraidhoo water project: MVR 46.8 million
- Sh. Feevah water project: MVR 49.6 million
- N. Henbadhoo water project: MVR 41.36 million
- R. Innamaadhoo water project: MVR 50.7 million
In addition, MWSC and the ministry signed an agreement for the survey, design and build of water and sewerage facilities in four additional islands; B. Kendhoo, B. Dharavandhoo. GDh. Vaadhoo and GDh. Fiyori.
This is to be completed within 720 days.
