A Covid-19 treatment facility
A 57-year-old local man has succumbed to Covid-19 on Saturday.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said the man passed away while receiving treatment at the intensive care at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility.
While this is the 42nd Covid-19 death confirmed in the Maldives, this includes 34 locals and eight foreigners.
It is the fourth death reported this month.
Maldives has confirmed a total of 12,112 Covid-19 cases thus far. While there have been 42 deaths, 11,244 patients have recovered from the virus.
