This will be effective from November 15

Malaysian authorities will be requiring foreigners to pay for Covid-19 testing and quarantine services prior to arrival, from November 15.

The High Commission of Maldives in Malaysia said that based on the latest information received from Malaysian authorities, all individuals who are arriving in Malaysia can now make the payments for the Covid-19 testing and quarantine costs via online platforms - MySafeTravel System or MyQr by MyEG App.

Foreigners who are travelling to Malaysia are required to make the payments through the abovementioned system/app before their departure and this requirement will be enforced starting from November 15.

After the payments have been done via the system/app, a QR code will be generated and this will be used as proof of payment upon arrival at KLIA.

While a number of Maldivians travel to and reside in Malaysia, the High Commission urged all to follow the necessary procedures when traveling to the southeastern nation.
