Maldives President has offered condolences following the passing of Bahrain’s long-serving Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih send a message of condolence to the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa following the Prime Minister’s passing on Wednesday.

In his message, Solih offered deepest condolences on behalf of the people and government of Maldives, noting that Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s “long and eventful” tenure will be remembered “fondly” by the people of Bahrain as well as the global community, in light of the late Prince’s “able statesmanship” and “skilled diplomacy”.

He went on to express hopes that the good relations between the people of both countries progress.

The long-serving Prime Minister of Bahrain passed away aged 84, reports local media outlets, which go on to reveal that flags will be flown at half-mast, following his demise.
