Maldives Police Service (MPS) arrested a man in connection to a case of gang violence in Addu City, on Monday.
The man, a 25-year-old Maldivian was arrested under a court order.
The gang violence was between two groups in the southernmost city’s Hithadhoo district and took place on Sunday.
The victim in the case attained serious injuries in the violent altercation, where two of his fingers were chopped off and he was stabbed in the waist, back and legs.
Police revealed that the victim is currently receiving treatment at Addu Equatorial Hospital.
Although his injuries are serious, the man is currently in stable condition, police cited the hospital.
