Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the five winning projects of its “Aharenge Bank” Community Fund.
The winning projects of Community Fund 2020, phase two, are;
- Support for Waste Management System in Kinolhas island in Raa atoll
- Community Area in Goidhoo island in Baa atoll
- School Water Supply through RO Plants in Kolamaafushi island of Gaafu Alifu atoll
- Nature Park with Solar Lights in Nadella island of Gaafu Dhaalu atoll
- Book Donation for Pubic Library in Fuvahmulah City
Noting that BML has “delivered projects in 30 islands” through the project thus far, the bank’s Public Relations’ Manager Mohamed Saeed expressed gratitude to those working “tirelessly” to initiate and deliver the projects.
He added that the bank is “happy to support the success of these projects”.
Launched in February last year, BML’s “Aharenge Bank” Community Fund aims to empower individuals to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects and is a campaign to emphasize the bank’s commitment to bond with the people.
The fund invites proposals that improve the ‘overall spirit of their respective communities, promote sustainability and provide social opportunities’.
While this year’s project submission is divided into three phases, five winning proposals have been selected for the first two and the national bank is to select 10 projects during the third phase.
The project was divided into four phases last year, with five winning proposals selected during each phase.
