Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested four individuals in a major alcohol bust.
Police officers conducted two operations in Maldives capital, Malé City following a tip-off to the Drug Intelligence Unit on September 13 and 15 respectively.
Officer confiscated a total of 511 cans of beer and 116 bottles of alcohol during both operations.
The beer cans were confiscated during the operation in Henveiru-ward of the capital city on September 13, where three individuals were unloading cases of beer cans from a vehicle. The two 30-year-old men and 23-year-old man were arrested from the site.
A 26-year-old was arrested on September 15 after officers stopped a van in the capital’s industrial zone and confiscated the bottles of alcohol.
All four arrested are Maldivian men.
Both cases are under further investigations, revealed the police.
